Simple Steps to Save

(February 15, 2023) - A few years ago, I bought my forever home. It’s not grand or elaborate by any means, but it is mine and exactly what I need for my retirement and beyond years. Purchasing this home was an exercise in simplicity and predictability because I had to consider what my needs would be when I’m 20+ years down the road and not what my life looks like at this specific time. With retirement savings in place and an adequate nest egg for emergencies and fun money, I knew I still had more savings goals to meet.

Every Month is College Savings Month

(August 31, 2022) - It’s September, which is National College Savings Month! This is the month when we officially recognize the importance of saving for post-high school education and training. Let’s face it, college is expensive, and getting more so with every passing year.  College Savings Month is a great reminder for families to put money away for their student’s future education expenses.

Fall Traditions

(October 9, 2020) - Our daily lives are changing in ways we could not have imagined at the start of 2020, yet some things remain the same. Fall has arrived, leaves are changing colors, the air is cooler and we are pulling out our cozy clothes. We are buying our favorite hot drinks and wondering what family holidays will look like this year. Our family gatherings might be smaller or traditions modified, but the comfort food will be the same. (I can smell turkey dinner now!)
